Lancashire & Blackpool Conference & Meetings venues rank among UK's best

Lancashire and Blackpool’s conference and meetings venues have proved they are among the best in the UK after excelling in a ‘mystery shopper’ survey.

The study, carried out by independent researchers, tested 46 venues across the county on key areas, such as managing initial enquiries and customer service.

It was organised by Lancashire & Blackpool Conferences & Meetings (LBCM), a joint initiative of Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board and visitBlackpool.

Results included:

·  One venue scoring 100 per cent across all categories and another four scoring 97 per cent or above.

·  12 venues scored 100 per cent and a further three scored 94 per cent in dealing with online enquiries.

·  The average score for effectively dealing with telephone enquiries was 95 per cent, with 31 venues scoring 100 per cent.

·  When dealing with face-to-face enquiries, two venues scored 100 per cent and 14 scored 95 per cent or more. 

The survey was conducted to coincide with LBCM’s Ambassador Programme, which is recruiting leading business people and academics to promote the county as a top conference and meetings destination.

It involves Ambassadors being given comprehensive support in bidding for conferences, as well as help finding the best venues, booking accommodation and hosting fact-finding visits to the area.

“This survey proves that we have the best customer service and skills to back up the tremendous facilities on offer for business people who come or want to come to Lancashire and Blackpool.

“Our venues work extremely hard to deliver high standards and can be rightly proud of their achievements, which highlight the excellent quality on offer to conference organisers and business visitors.

“This survey clearly shows venues in the county are among the best in the country.”
