What's On in Lancashire and Blackpool

Lancashire has a huge diversity of different events on offer so it’s not hard to coincide your conference with something fun for delegate downtime. On 30 May the locals dress up in exotic garb and enjoy the coming of summer with the laid-back Caribbean Festival, while in August the Red Arrows perform their death-defying aerial display at the Blackpool Annual Airshow. If music is your thing you’ll enjoy a visit to the Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival in Colne, where more than 1,000 artists perform over four days. The Pennine Lancashire Festival of Food draws thousands of gastronomes to the area from 19 August to 19 September.

  (4 to 12 September 2010) With well over 80 free guided walks this is probably the UK’s largest free walking festival providing free guided walks every day to suit walkers of all abilities, ranging from easy canal-side walks to hard excursions across open access land.
