Winner 2009 Blackpool Nocturne

Blackpool Nocturne

During 2009 Blackpool hosted for the first time, the Nocturne cycling series, the blackpool event was the third and final leg of the series after stages in London and Endinburgh.

Over 4000 spectators lined the circuit which ran along the promenade, Adelaide Street West and Bank Hey Street. An illuminated promenade and tower provided a truly spectacular backdrop for the best of British Cycling. A total of over 150 competitors took part in the hugely successful programme of racing which featured an elite criterium race, hoteliers challenge, folding bike race and support race.

In 2010 the highlight of the race programme will once again be the Elite Criterium as the top British teams take on a range of international challengers.

Other races will include the Cycling Weekly Support Race, Folding Bike Race and Youth Race. The start / finish area will be packed with attractions and entertainment including the Rollapaluza roller racing, Red Bull Stand Off and the Rapha stand. Check out the race programme for more information and details of how to enter the races.

The Nocturne is free to the public with exclusive hospitality tickets available for those who would like to watch the racing in style.

And it is not just all about the racing as there will be plenty of attractions to create a festival of cycling for fans and families alike including the Red Bull Stand Off competition, trade exhibitions, the Rapha stand and plenty of bars and restaurants who will be ready to keep the food and drinks flowing.
